Engagement
is the responsibility of the board, it shall proceed according to the recall
list.
Vocational
Training Teachers:
Clause 13-9.01 of the Collective Agreement states that any teacher with a teaching licence, brevet, or PTA in the Vocational Training sector who is offered a full-time teacher's workload between July 1st and December 1st is entitled to a full-time contract (a tenured track post). The teacher who has a full-time contract for 2 years becomes permanent (regular) on the first day of their 3rd year.
Clause 13-9.03 of the Collective Agreement states that the board shall grant any teacher with a teaching licence, brevet, or PTA in the Vocational Training sector a part-time or replacement contract if the predetermined number of teaching hours are equal or greater than 216 hours.*
Adult
Education Teachers:
Clause 11-8.03 of the Collective Agreement states that the board shall offer a part-time or replacement teacher contract to a qualified adult education teacher when a predetermined number of teaching hours is equal or greater than 240 hours.*
*As per Appendix XXXVII, a teacher who is eligible for a part-time or replacement teacher contract, but does not have a teaching licence, can nonetheless be hired at an hourly rate.
